Ealing residents who want a direct say in local improvements can apply to join a Town Team under the Your Voice, Your Town programme.
The volunteer teams bring residents, businesses, community and faith groups, and councillors together across Ealing borough’s 7 towns. Applications are open until 11.45pm on Sunday 21 June 2026.
Who can join an Ealing Town Team
Town Teams are designed for people who care about their local area and want to help turn ideas into practical action. The role is voluntary and open to people with different levels of experience, from long-standing community organisers to residents getting involved in local housing proposals for the first time.

Members usually meet monthly and work with Ealing Council support to agree local priorities. Those priorities can include cleaner streets, safer public spaces, high street improvements, green space projects, local events and other community-led ideas.
The council says each team is intended to include a mix of residents, local businesses, community and faith organisations, and councillors, so decisions reflect a range of local views.

What Town Teams do locally
Town Teams focus on practical neighbourhood issues rather than formal party politics. Their work can include turning local suggestions into funded projects, planning activities that bring people together, and raising concerns such as cleanliness or safety with the council and partner organisations.

The model is part of Ealing Council’s Your Voice, Your Town initiative, which aims to give local people a stronger role in shaping change where they live. Similar resident-led work is taking place elsewhere in the UK, including community volunteer projects in Cheshire East focused on local environmental care.
Southall member says local pride prompted him to join
Mathan Kumar, a Southall Town Team member, said he had lived in the area for more than 25 years and wanted to help improve it.
“I’ve lived in Southall for over 25 years and really care about the area. Over time, I’ve seen things that I believe can and should be improved, and that’s motivated me to get involved,” he said.
Councillor Lauren Wall, Ealing Council’s cabinet member for thriving communities, said Town Teams “shift power into the hands of people who know their areas best” and encouraged residents who love where they live to apply.
