Southport-area businesses can book free InvestSefton events in June designed to help them prepare for higher visitor numbers linked to the town’s 2026 cultural programme.
The sessions are aimed at local firms that want to improve customer experience, strengthen their marketing and make better use of upcoming cultural activity in Southport. Places are free, with booking handled by InvestSefton.
Free June sessions at Formby Hall
Hospitality expert Andrew Kemsley will lead two-hour workshops focused on helping businesses enhance their guests’ experience and respond to increased footfall.
| Event | Details |

| Guest experience workshop | Monday 8 June, 6pm to 8pm |
| Guest experience workshop | Tuesday 9 June, 10am to 12 noon |
| Venue | Formby Hall Golf Resort & Spa |
| Cost | Free |
| Networking | 30 minutes before each workshop |
The workshops follow recent InvestSefton digital and social media masterclasses. More than 300 local businesses have already attended InvestSefton-organised events connected to Southport’s 2026 plans.

Businesses that may benefit
The guest experience sessions are most relevant for hospitality, leisure, retail, visitor economy and service-led businesses that expect to deal with more customers during Southport’s cultural programme.
The focus is practical: improving the way visitors are welcomed, served and encouraged to return. For smaller firms, that can include clearer customer journeys, stronger staff confidence and more consistent service during busy periods.
Sefton Economic Forum follows later in June
InvestSefton will also hold the Sefton Economic Forum at Formby Hall Golf Resort & Spa on Wednesday 24 June.
The forum is scheduled to begin with breakfast networking from 8.15am, followed by the main two-hour session from 9am. A business support marketplace will open from 11am.

Speakers listed for the event include a Bank of England representative named Ken in the source notice, alongside award-winning writer Frank Cottrell-Boyce.
Southport’s cultural programme creates a business window
The council-backed events are being framed around Southport’s packed 2026 cultural programme, which is expected to bring opportunities for businesses that rely on visitors, day-trippers and local spending.
For many operators, the benefit may depend on preparation before peak activity arrives: visible marketing, reliable digital information, smooth booking or enquiry routes, and staff who can handle heavier demand.
