Bucknell drivers face C6208 wall repair closure

Drivers near Bucknell will need to avoid the C6208 between Monday 13 July and Friday 31 July 2026 while repairs are carried out to a collapsed retaining wall.

The closure will run from the A488 New Invention to the Lower Lye Junction. Shropshire Council says the road will be closed to vehicular traffic around the clock for the full duration of the works, with traffic sent along a signed diversion route.

Diversion and access restrictions

Traffic will be diverted by a signed route while the C6208 is closed. Drivers using local lanes around Bucknell should allow extra time, particularly if they normally use the route to connect with the A488.

Pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will not have access through the works area during the closure. Shropshire Council said this restriction is needed so the repairs can be carried out safely.
