A murder investigation has been launched after 15-year-old Jamal Ringrose died following a stabbing on Dudden Hill Lane in Brent.
The Metropolitan Police is appealing for witnesses and information after the incident, which Brent Council said happened on Saturday, 30 May. Officers are asking anyone who saw what happened, or who has details that could help the inquiry, to contact police on 101 quoting CAD 9258/30MAY.
Jamal’s death has prompted tributes from local leaders and concern among residents in the area, where police have increased their presence while inquiries continue.
Police appeal after Dudden Hill Lane stabbing
The Metropolitan Police is continuing to seek information from people who may have witnessed the incident on Dudden Hill Lane or have other relevant details.
Residents who have not yet spoken to officers are being urged to come forward. Information can also be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
The appeal is focused on building a clearer account of the events around the stabbing and identifying anyone who may be able to assist detectives. Even small pieces of information can matter in a murder inquiry, particularly where witnesses may have left the area before realising the seriousness of what had happened.
Tributes from Brent after Jamal Ringrose named
Cllr Liz Dixon, Brent Council’s Cabinet Member for Community Safety and Public Health, said she was “deeply saddened” by Jamal’s death and offered condolences to his family and friends.
“Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this incredibly difficult time, and we extend our condolences to everyone affected,” she said.
She also thanked people who had already provided information to police and urged anyone who had not yet done so to support the investigation.

“We recognise that incidents like this cause significant concern within the community,” Cllr Dixon said. “If you know something you’ve not yet shared, I encourage you to support the Police’s investigation by calling 101 or calling Crimestoppers anonymously.”
Extra patrols and CCTV in the area
Brent Council said the Metropolitan Police has increased its presence around the area, with officers on the ground to provide reassurance and support.
The council has also installed more CCTV cameras nearby, citing wider local concerns about anti-social behaviour and crime. The response is being coordinated with police and community partners as residents seek answers after the death of a teenager in a public street.
Youth safety and local prevention work have become a visible concern across London boroughs, with community programmes also focusing on support for young people, including specialist youth support and sports activity in other parts of the capital.
Public meeting for residents
A public meeting will be held with representatives from the Metropolitan Police so residents can ask questions, raise concerns and hear from local services about the response.
Further details are expected to be shared through local groups. The council said it is continuing to work closely with the police and community partners to support residents following the incident.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting CAD 9258/30MAY, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
